Nineteen years on Salesforce. One very deliberate niche.
Omnistudio Consulting is a founder-led practice — one senior specialist, no bench, no hand-offs. Here's who you'd actually be working with.
Tom Niehoff
I've spent nineteen years building on the Salesforce platform — long enough to have watched most of its acquisitions arrive, get renamed, and settle in. Few of them rewarded deep specialization the way Vlocity did when it became OmniStudio.
I led the OmniStudio charge at a global company: making the case for it, architecting it, building it, and — most importantly — living with every decision through years of releases, upgrades, and audits. That last part is what most consulting résumés are missing. Anyone can ship a demo. Owning a footprint at enterprise scale teaches you which patterns survive and which ones quietly become the next team's rescue project.
I started this practice because OmniStudio work deserves better than being staffed off a generalist bench. It's a genuinely niche discipline — OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, DocGen — and the difference between someone who knows it and someone who studied it last quarter shows up in your org for years.
- 19 years designing and building on the Salesforce platform
- OmniStudio specialist since the Vlocity era — pre- and post-acquisition
- Led OmniStudio delivery and strategy at a global enterprise
- Hands-on across OmniScripts, FlexCards, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, and DocGen
- Comfortable at whiteboards with executives and in debug logs at 2 a.m.
The operating principles
Honesty over billable hours
If OmniStudio is the wrong tool for your use case, I'll say so on the first call. A specialist practice only works if the recommendation can be trusted — including when the recommendation is “not me.”
Build for the team that stays
Every engagement is designed around my own exit: documented standards, paired build time with your people, and an org your team can run without a retainer. Dependence is a design flaw.
Depth beats breadth
I do OmniStudio and DocGen — and I decline everything else. Nineteen years on the platform means I know exactly where my edge is, and where you'd be better served by someone else.
